APRIL 2011 NEWS LETTER
Welcome to all new members to the club from the committee and the continual support from our veterans. The clubs main event the cup presentation night is fast approaching and will be held at the (BRITISH LEGION CLUB) in (HYTHE) on Saturday the 21 st May, 7pm till 11pm, book your place vie MICKS TACKLE 01303 266334 cost £8 adults-£6 juniors. Your tickets will have a no and will be put in a draw, in addition a raffle is being run with a (7HT REEL UP FOR GRABS) this was donated by one of our members Glenn Hibben many thanks Glen. We would ask that all bookings and payment of tickets are completed by the1 Oth May in order that food and seating can be planed. Please remember if you book and fail to attend your club has to offset that cost from all other members fees. Beach fishing news is that there is a good turnout at most matches with plenty of fish being brought to the scales. Dorian the beach secretary has organised as a trial 6 Saturday matches and will if there is enough interest organise others, I'm pleased to say that they were well supported and that other matches are planned there should be no reason why the juniors cant fish the Sat matches the club has also just been donated two beach rods and reels for juniors to use and are held by the beach secretary to borrow. Another thing that's well worth a mention is that the top anglers on those Sat matches are the Girls well done to you both Charlotte and Amanda, come on boys??? Boat news. Plenty off good fish are being caught especially from John Smiths boat trinity off of fisherman's beach with catches of pouting-whiting-dogfish-cod-dabs etc, on most trips however the old man of the sea Dave Gray while fishing aboard Johns boat landed a nice bass of 1O.2lbs the current specimen club bass stands at 9.51bs so well done Sir Dave new record for specimen and club record to date. It has been great to see the club boat being used this year lets hope we have plenty of fine weather this summer with less wind than last, booking boat on match days phone boat secretary, all other times contact me for keys 24hr notice minimum,01303 875384 remember all users must be members and have had training on the use of all equipment involved with boat fishing, members with own boats are asked to ensure you crews are members of the club.
